It was a hot summer day and it was the taking down of a the Asian art. There was also a small presentation. Three comedians and the 4Track Band. Lots of food too.

November 9, 2022 – Members Judged Show

September 4, 2022 – Victoria Johnson – First Woman and First Digital Art show.

August 13, 2022 – Pitch Night for “The Governor” movie. The gallery was packed to listen to the synopsis of the movie about Governor Jesus Bautista who protected the city of Laguna from destruction in the hands of the Japanese invasion during World War II. According to Valerie Vibar, Laguna was the second most devasted country (second only to London) during the second World War. The stories about the suffering and the heroism of the governor is a story that begs to be told.

Being a Chinese Filipino American and having a weight problem isn’t easy.
She joked about the pressure from her Filipino parents.
It’s cool to be a techie Filipino. You can make lots of music, lots of friends and be hip at the same time.

July 19 – Caricature Class. Over 40 people came to pack the gallery. There was food, lessons, music and dancing. MORE.

April 12, 2022 – Long time benefactor and LHAG Board member Don Warthen passed away today.  Being among the first batch of the US marines,  he developed a love for photography, music and jewelry making. Our prayers go to his wife Ofelia and the rest of the family. We will miss you Don. Thank you for your service. Thank you for being a friend.

March/April 2022 – Antique and Vintage Car theme show. Paint your favorite car for this show: your family’s old jalopy or a vintage Ferrari – we want them all! Take in is March 5, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The reception will be March 20, 2:00 to 4:00 pm. There will be a display of vintage cars to view in the parking lot during the reception. An entry fee will be charged.

 

January/February 2022 – Hands On Art – Three dimensional art created by hand will include sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, etc. More information will be forthcoming. Take in will be January 8, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The artist reception is January 16, 2:00 – 4:00 pm. An entry fee will be charged.

November/December 2021– “Veterans” Show. The Association joins with the City of La Habra to honor all Veterans. This show will include anything patriotic. What did you do in the year of the Covid 19 pandemic? If you created something positive, it could also be eligible to be shown in this exhibit. Take-in will be Saturday, November 6 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. An entry fee of $5 will be charged.

September/October 2021“Fresh Start.” This is a members only judged show. Take-in will be September 4, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. All media is accepted in the show. Entry fee is $5.00 per entry. Prizes will be awarded for First, Second, Third and Best of Show and the public will vote on a Popular Choice award. Join the Art Association to take part in this show. Artist reception and awards will be September 19 at 3:00 pm.

July 1-31, 2021–“Beyond the Sixth.” Talented artist Bobby Romero is showing paintings and sculptures in his signature surreal style. The artist reception will be July 18, 2021, from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.
